Description
Titanium Gr5 Bar AMS 4928 is an α+β titanium alloy composed of titanium, aluminum, and vanadium (Ti-6Al-4V). It is widely recognized as the base alloy of the titanium industry, representing over 50% of total titanium use. The alloy combines high strength, low weight, corrosion resistance, and good heat tolerance.
Annealed Ti-6Al-4V bars are suitable for aerospace, biomedical, and industrial applications. They can be heat treated to moderate strength and used at temperatures up to 350°C (660°F). Surface treatments like nitriding or oxidizing can improve wear resistance for sliding applications.
