Description
Aluminum foil is a hot stamping material made from metal aluminum rolled directly into thin sheets. The stamping effect closely resembles that of pure silver foil; hence, it is also referred to as “imitation silver foil.” Due to its soft texture, excellent ductility, and natural silver-white luster, aluminum foil can be laminated with sodium silicate and other compounds onto offset paper to produce printable aluminum foil sheets.
However, aluminum foil is susceptible to oxidation and discoloration. Friction or prolonged contact may cause fading, making it unsuitable for long-term decorative applications such as book covers.

Characteristics
-
The surface of aluminum foil is extremely clean and hygienic, preventing bacteria or microorganisms from growing.
-
Non-toxic and safe for direct contact with food without health concerns.
-
Tasteless and odorless — it does not affect the flavor or smell of packaged products.
-
Non-volatile — aluminum foil and packaged food remain stable without drying or shrinking.
-
Excellent oil resistance — no grease penetration under high or low temperatures.
-
Opaque — provides perfect protection for products sensitive to light, such as margarine.
-
High plasticity — can be formed into various shapes or containers.
-
Strong hardness and tensile strength, though its tear strength is relatively low, making it easy to tear.
-
Aluminum foil itself cannot be heat-sealed; a heat-sealable coating (such as PE) is required.
-
When in contact with certain heavy metals, chemical reactions may occur and should be avoided.
Applications
Aluminum foil is widely used across multiple industries, including:
Packaging: Commonly used for food, confectionery, and cigarette packaging. It provides excellent moisture resistance, light protection, and decorative appeal. Also used for household food containers and lunch boxes to retain freshness and heat.
Automotive: Applied in the manufacturing of heat exchanger fins for vehicle air conditioning systems, improving thermal efficiency.
Pharmaceutical: Used for blister packs and other packaging of capsules, tablets, and powders due to its moisture and light resistance.
Battery and Electronics: Serves as a key material for lithium battery current collectors and electrolytic capacitors requiring high-purity aluminum foil.
