Product Description

Gr12 Titanium Wire for manufacture of high-temperature equipment

The Ti-12 alloy is a type of titanium alloy that exhibits resistance to crevice corrosion. At a temperature of 300 degrees, its tensile strength is twice that of pure titanium. Additionally, this alloy shows a significant enhancement in corrosion resistance in reducing media.

The GR12 titanium wire, also known as Titanium-Molybdenum-Nickel alloy, has a nominal composition of Ti-0.3Mo-0.8Ni. It was researched and developed by the United States in the mid-1970s. Like the Ti-12 alloy, the GR12 titanium wire is also resistant to crevice corrosion. Its tensile strength is double that of pure titanium, and it demonstrates improved corrosion resistance in reducing media. Moreover, it does not undergo crevice corrosion in the presence of chlorides within the range of 150 to 200. The GR12 titanium wire is commonly utilized in applications that involve high temperatures, high pressures, and corrosive environments.

Application

The Gr12 titanium-molybdenum alloy wire possesses exceptional high-temperature strength, corrosion resistance, and oxidation resistance, enabling it to operate reliably over extended periods in various acidic, saline, and alkaline environments. This alloy also offers good workability, allowing it to be readily formed into filaments of diverse shapes and sizes.

With its broad application spectrum, the Gr12 titanium-molybdenum alloy is commonly employed in the production of high-temperature equipment. It is particularly useful in oil and gas industry applications such as oil well pipelines, chemical equipment, and high-temperature furnaces, especially where conditions of high temperature, high pressure, and corrosive environments are present. Furthermore, the alloy sees extensive use in manufacturing components for high-temperature engines and turbines within the aerospace sector, as well as in rocket engine applications that involve withstanding extreme temperatures and pressures.
