Nitinol wire is a type of metal wire that is made from an alloy of nickel and titanium. Nitinol wire is also known as shape memory alloy wire because it has the unique property of being able to "remember" its original shape and return to it when heated after being deformed.
When nitinol wire is in its original, undeformed shape, it is relatively soft and flexible. However, when it is deformed, it becomes much stiffer and more rigid. When nitinol wire is heated to a certain temperature, it will return to its original, undeformed shape. This property makes nitinol wire useful for a variety of applications, including medical devices, such as stents, and robotics.
Nitinol wire is also known for its superelasticity, which allows it to return to its original shape even after being stretched or bent beyond its normal limits. This property makes it useful in applications where a high degree of flexibility and durability are required.
