Study on the micromechanical properties of TC17 titanium alloy

The micron indentation tester was used to perform indentation experiments on TC17 titanium alloy.Based on the obtained indentation load-displacement curve, the microhardness and young's modulus were calculated by Oliver-Pharr(OP) method. The results show that when the depth is less than a certain value, the hardness and elastic modulus change greatly, and both decrease with the increase of the depth, showing obvious size effect. The hardness and modulus of elasticity tend to be stable when the depth exceeds a certain value. The results showed that the treatment system had a significant effect on the material properties.

The Gleeble 3500D thermal simulation test machine was used to perform the high temperature compression test on TC17 titanium alloy. The deformation temperature is 973 ~ 1223 K, the strain rate is 0.001 ~ 10 s-1, and the strain is 0.9.The results show that the high temperature rheological stress of TC17 titanium alloy is very sensitive to strain rate and deformation temperature. When the temperature is 1123,1183 and 1223 K, and the strain rate is 10 s-1, the flow stress of TC17 titanium alloy shows obvious stress discontinuous yield phenomenon.
